Our Commitment

At Australian Business Consumables, we stand behind the quality of everything we sell. This policy sets out your rights and our obligations when a product needs to be returned or refunded. We aim to make the process straightforward and fair.

 

ACL

Nothing in this policy limits or excludes your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) or the Australian Consumer Law and Fair Trading Act 2012 (Vic). Your statutory rights apply regardless of this policy.

 

Change of Mind Returns

We accept change of mind returns within 7 days of the date you received your order, subject to the following conditions:

 

     The product must be in its original, unopened packaging

     The product must be unused and in resaleable condition

     All tags and labels must be intact

     Proof of purchase (receipt or order confirmation) must be provided

     Return shipping costs are at the customer's expense

 

A refund will be issued to your original payment method once the return is received and inspected. We will notify you of the outcome within 2 business days of receiving the goods.

 

The following products cannot be returned for change of mind:

 

     Cleaning chemicals, sanitisers, and disinfectants (including Mediclear products) once the seal has been broken

     Food-contact items and kitchen consumables once opened

     Hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases

     Personal hygiene and PPE products once the packaging has been opened

     Clearance or sale items

     Gift cards

     Custom or special-order products

 

ACL

Under the ACL, businesses are not required to accept change of mind returns. Our 7-day window is a goodwill policy. However, your rights for faulty or misdescribed goods are separate and unlimited by this timeframe.

 

Faulty, Damaged, or Incorrect Products

Please inspect your order upon reception. If your item is faulty, damaged in transit, or does not match what you ordered, contact us immediately at admin@abcoz.com.au so we can assess the issue and make it right.

 

Under the Australian Consumer Law, you are entitled to a remedy if a product:

 

     Has a major failure or defect

     Does not match its description or sample

     Is not fit for its intended purpose

     Does not meet acceptable quality standards

 

For faulty, damaged, or incorrect products we will cover return shipping costs and offer you the choice of a full refund, replacement, or store credit. These rights apply regardless of whether the product has been opened or used, and are not limited to any fixed time period under the ACL.

 

How to Start a Return

Items sent back to us without prior authorisation will not be accepted. Please follow these steps:

 

1.  Contact us at admin@abcoz.com.au or call 1800 181 383 with your order number and reason for return

2.  Wait for our return authorisation and instructions — we will respond within 2 business days

3.  Pack the product securely in its original packaging where possible

4.  Send the product to our returns address as directed in our authorisation email

5.  We will notify you once received and inspected, and process your refund or replacement within 5–7 business days

Exchanges

The fastest way to get the product you need is to return the original item and place a new order once your return is accepted. If you received a faulty or incorrect item, we will arrange an exchange or replacement at no additional cost.

Refunds

We will notify you once your returned item has been received and inspected, and advise whether your refund has been approved. If approved:

 

     Refunds are processed within 5–7 business days of us receiving the returned goods

     Refunds are issued to your original payment method

     Please allow additional time for your bank or card provider to process and post the refund

     If more than 10 business days have passed since we approved your refund and you have not received it, please contact us at admin@abcoz.com.au

 

Victorian Consumer Legislation

In addition to the Commonwealth Australian Consumer Law, Victorian customers are also protected by the Australian Consumer Law and Fair Trading Act 2012 (Vic) and the Fair Trading Act 1999 (Vic). These laws provide equivalent protections and in some cases additional remedies for Victorian consumers.
